Pavilion 2008

The brand new Pavilion on the Clare playing fields at Harp Lane is to be officially opened on 5th July.  To be know as Pavilion 2008 the opening will be performed at 3.00 p.m. by Kevin Beattie who is the former England International and Ipswich Town professional footballer.

 

The Pavilion building has been funded through grants from the Football Foundation, St. Edmundsbury Borough Council and Clare Town Council and representatives from each organisation will be attending. The Clare Playing Fields Association has also raised funds over the last ten years to replace the old pavilion which had become unsafe.   Pavilion 2008 is a fantastic facility which includes a function room and kitchen as well as the players and referees changing rooms. 

 

On the day of the opening there will also be an exhibition of junior football by the players and coaches of the Clare Town Lions junior football club. Everyone is welcome to come and see the new pavilion, enjoy the opening and meet the people who have made it happen.  Refreshments will be available with the proceeds supporting the junior football club.
