Prankster’s Joke a Real Monster
MOVE over Nessie – a new monster is making ripples in a quiet stream in Suffolk!

The new monster appeared to have been inspired by the Scottish Loch Ness Monster, complete with traditional hump and extended neck, it appeared in the stream at Clare Country Park on Friday but disappeared overnight.

This ‘monster joke’ was accompanied with a sign attached to a nearby post declaring that monsters had been seen in the area and visitors should take care in case the rare and legendary ‘Stoursaurous’ should appear. The sign purported to be from an official at the ‘Ministry of Monsters’ and declared that officials from the ministry were on their way to investigate recent sightings.

The monster remained in the stream for the rest of the day, much to the delight of local children and surprised visitors, but disappeared overnight.

The April fool appears to be the work of the so called ‘Suffolk prankster’ who was responsible for last year’s April fool in Clare when the local Town church was fitted with signs declaring it for sale by ‘G Odd and Son’.

Pranksters are also alive and well in neighbouring Cavendish where a series of April Fool jokes have been perpetrated for a number of years, including a flock of cardboard sheep on the village green and an Excalibur sword emerging from the village duck pond.
