Capacity Crowd for Music Festival
ONCE again the sun shone on the 7th Clare World Music Festival last weekend with a crowd of nearly 2500 in attendance. With showers all around the area Clare was very fortunate to only experience a few light drops of rain right at the beginning of the 11-hour festival which started at mid-day.

The headline band this year were The Commitments, stars of stage and screen and they were joined by wild man of pop John Otway as well as local bands and other world wide performers including Terrafolk from Slovenia as well as a latin Salsa band Robert Pla and punk tribute band Swindle from Southend and others. Local bands included FuzzFace and CRABS as well as the winners from this year’s Haverhill Battle of The Bands, High White Honkies.

It was acclaimed by the organisers as “The best Clare festival ever”.
