Ancient House opens East Wing
THE Ancient House will be opening a usually unseen part of it’s property next week when visitors will get the chance to look around the 15th century east wing.

This part of the property is usually only let to holidaymakers by the Landmark Trust, but for just one week only it will be open for all to see. This is the most ornate part of the building and from June 11th-17th it will be open between 10am and 5pm.

The 14th century beamed west wing is the museum part of the building and it thought to have originally been a shop. This now has an exhibition showing the history of Clare with a number of exhibits and is well attended.

Genealogists are keen on the museum as it dates history back some 2500 years and there are extensive computer records that can be consulted.
