Plans to give Clare a Boost
Town Councillors are keen to ensure that Clare remains a thriving and attractive town for consumers and businesses alike.
A working party has just been set up to encourage retention of existing businesses as well as attracting new businesses. During recent months there have been a number of planning applications to change the use of shops into homes and there are concerns that this seems to be a growing trend.
The council would also like to attract more visitors to the Country Park and The Nuttery.
With such attractions as well as other annual events which take place in Clare the possibility of a festival type week has been tentatively suggested when Clare could be promoted and this week would be used to encourage people into the town with organisations, clubs and societies showing what they have to offer as well as shops and businesses.
There is also an ongoing problem with the lack of car parking in Clare and it is strongly felt that an additional car park is required. This is one of the issues the working party will be looking closely at and trying to find solutions for.
