Clare School Celebrate Ofsted Inspection Results
PUPILS and staff at Clare Primary School are in celebration mood after being praised by Ofsted inspectors.
The inspection which took place in September described the school’s effectiveness as good and also said it gave good value for money with standards being well above average in English, maths, science and art and design by the end of year 2. Standards were also above average in music and information and communication technology. The school’s nursery was described as “excellent”.
Tom Shaw, Chairman of Governors said “The parents and governing body would like to congratulate everyone involved in creating such a friendly, purposeful, high-achieving school for their efforts.”
Although standards at the school have risen steadily since the last inspection there are still areas for improvement, which the report flagged up. These are improving pupils’ understanding of how to make their work better and developing a school council to improve the involvement of pupils in the work of the school. Staff will now be working keenly towards these.
The school has for the past two years won the National Achievement Award for high standards and achieved A* for being in the top five per cent in the country in reading, writing and maths.
