Young Clare Footballer Set for the Big Time
Sixteen year old James Krause from Clare is the “next big thing” say coaches at Ipswich Town Football Club where James has recently started a three year scholarship.

James currently is living away from home during the week and returns to his home in Hermitage Meadow, Clare after weekend matches. James, who is a former Clare Middle School and Samuel Ward pupil, began his footballing career when he played for the West Suffolk schools team. He was spotted by Portman Road coaches and he was then invited for a six week trial which gained him a place in the Ipswich Town academy. The club are supporting continuation of his studies with him studying for AS levels in PE and computing at sixth form college in Ipswich.

The club say “the next two to three years are crucial. At this stage James has shown a lot of ability, a lot of talent and has a fantastic attitude. If that continues he will have a promising career. So far the signs are good.”

The academy season started when the Ipswich Youth team met Stoke City and other matches organised for this seasons youth teams are against Aston Villa, Norwich, Tottenham Hotspur, Millwall and Charlton.

James has also recently played for the England under 17’s in Norway.
