Clare is judged for Britain in Bloom
Britain in Bloom judges visited Clare last Friday. Clare was honoured to be one of the finalists for the Britain in Bloom competition as 1700 large villages enter into “Bloom” competitions in total and only nine are good enough to make it through to the finals.

After successes in previous years in the Anglia in Bloom competition this is the first time Clare has been entered in the national competition and the Clare in Bloom committee have worked very hard to make the town as bright and colourful as possible.

The judges were able to view a combination of floral tributes along with the conservation area, The Nuttery and residential gardens. One of the Britain in Bloom judges Ms Rodrigues said they “would be looking for a feel of community spirit and the community working together as well as the floral displays”

Schools in Clare have been closely involved with the project planting flowers and gardens and the Middle School also wrote a song to celebrate. A video has also been produced showing how the year has progressed.

Results of the national competition will be announced later in the year.
