Popular Teacher Retires
CLARE Primary School teacher Margaret King retired last Friday after 25 years teaching at the school. She originally started at Clare Primary to cover a colleagues sick leave for a month but stayed somewhat longer than anticipated.
Mrs King who is 59 and lives in Glemsford has been the literacy co-ordinator at the school for many years and also served as a School Governor for some 20 years.
She taught mainly eight year olds in year three and in recent years has found herself in the position of teaching the children of former pupils who passed through the school years before.
Mr John Pauling the headmaster said she will be very much missed by the school adding that "Every year Mrs King has painted a wonderful backdrop for our annual Christmas panto so many people in Clare will have seen her work".
She was presented with gifts of a suitcase and crockery from the school and she in turn presented the school with a clock to remember her by. The presentation took place at the leavers assembly last Friday.
