Hoping to colour judges decision
A WATERFALL of flowers was part of a sea of colours that greeted judges of the Anglia in Bloom competition when they visited the village of Clam.
The Clare in Bloom Committee is hoping to repeat last year’s success when It won the large village section of the competition. Judges spent two hours in Clam,
near Haverhill, last Wednesday during a three-week tour of communities which have entered the competition from across the six counties of Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Cambrldgeshlre, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshlre.
Jane Bone, chairman of Clare in Bloom, said the sun shone for most of the time that the judges
were In the town, with only a few drops of rain to blight their visit. “As far as we know it was looking as good as we could make It.
“The streets were tidy and the flowers were glowing. Now we have to wait until September for the results to be announced and we are just hoping for the best,” Mrs. Bone said.
