New Clare Post Office open for business!
Clare’s new post office is now open for business following the closure of the original Post Office in the high street.
The new Post Office is located inside B J Butchers Newsagent following extensive refurbishment work to the card and toy department. The toy department has now got it’s own floor downstairs providing enough space to produce a very respectful toyshop in it’s own right! Greeting cards remain roughly in the same place and are now part of the Post Office area.
The New Post Office will be offering all the services that were available in the old office and B J Butcher’s staff has been thoroughly trained to perform various Post Office duties.
As the old Post Office is now a regular shop, the original wall mounted Post Box has been removed however, standing proudly in its place on the pavement outside, a traditional red Pillar Box has been installed. As before, this will allow people to post items outside of Post Office hours.
The new Post Office counter has been well received by locals is initially it was thought that Clare was to lose it’s Post Office altogether. Being such an important part of the community it is nice to see that it has found a new home at B J Butchers.
The opening hours of the new Post Office counter will be 9am – 5.30pm weekdays and 9am – 1pm Saturdays.
