Clare Fayre and Festival Weekend
The Fifth Clare World Musical, ‘Clare ‘02’, will take place on Saturday, July 13 in Clare Castle Country Park, permission kindly given by Suffolk County Council.
Local newcomers Chantal ease us into the day, followed by newly emerging Braintree gentle Soul outfit Nermal. The crackin’ Bob Marley tribute band Trenchtown Experience will swing us through the afternoon followed by legendary 80’ rockers, the outrageous Dr Feelgood. The hugely popular and high energy ska outfit King Prawn is sure to have everybody up and moving their feet just ahead of early 80’s favourites Boney M, who will no doubt remind us that great talent never dies.
Special tickets for the festival will be on sale during Feelgood Friday, discounted to just £10 each for sales on that night. Otherwise, the usual discount price of £12 will hold for the month of April. Thereafter, tickets will cost £15. Children under 5 are free and those under 14 will pay only £5. All children must accompany an adult.
Feelgood Friday
Dr Feelgood will be cooking up a storm in Clare Town Hall on Good Friday, supported by local boys Nermal. This Clare World Music Festival promotional concert on Friday, March 29, has received huge backing from many Clare businesses. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are now on sale, at £15, from Ship Stores. Only 220 are available and the last Clare World Music Festival bash (Geno Washington before Christmas) sold out in advance. So, to avoid disappointment, buy your tickets early!
Before the music begins, starting at 2:00 p.m., the Clare World Music Festival Committee is holding an exhibition in the Town Hall of the Festival, past and future. Please come along, browse, ask questions and give your own views on what is essentially your Festival. The Committee will be pleased to receive any comments which will help them to plan an even better Festival in the future.
