Green’s tree to be saved
A WILLOW tree that helps to contribute a sense of natural enclosure for the village green at Cavendish just outside Clare should not be cut down, council officers have recommended.
The owner of the tree at Stour House, Cavendish has told St Edmundsbury Borough Council that the decaying specimen was unsafe and detrimental to the property. Construction of the house in 1985 was subject to the retention of the tree, and Planning Officers say that it is a public amenity with a 10-year minimum life expectancy, and does not pose a risk to the property.
Councillors will vote on 6th December 2001.
