Santa & Mayor to lead Clare’s Xmas Celebrations
CLARE'S Christmas Lights switch on will take place on Friday 30 November at 6:00pm. The town's children are invited to gather in the High Street, at the west door of the Town Church from 5:30pm to take part in a Christmas parade being lead by a piper, to meet Father Christmas and his helpers on the Market Hill.
The Mayor of St Edmundsbury aided by Father Christmas, will then turn on the town’s lights including those on the Christmas tree situated in it’s usual Market Hill position.
Following the big switch-on there will be live entertainment including a magician, Carols performed by the pupils of Clare Middle School as well as a short disco and some other children’s amusements.
Coffee and mince pies will be on offer to help meet the cost of the evening. There will also be a junior disco organised by the Clare Community Association, which will begin at 7:00pm.
