Clare lights up again
On Friday 24th November, Clare was officially lit up for the Christmas festivities. The residents of Clare were led by a Scottish piper from the west door of the Town Church, along the High Street and into the Market.
Square. At the square the Mayor of St Edmundsbury and the Chairman of Clare Town Council, Jeff Stevens, gave short speeches before the big countdown took place and Clare was a blaze of colour again.
Clare traders once more were out in force to help organise the handing out of balloons to the children and provide refreshments in the form of mince pies, cups of tea and the ever popular hot dogs. Magic Mickey entertained the crowd with his jokes and tricks and Father Christmas was there checking up on good behaviour and giving fruit to the pious children of Clare.
