News from Clare Primary School
The older children in the school enjoyed a visit from Sudbury Hockey Club recently; many showed promising skills with a hockey stick! Next year, the school will be taking part in the County ‘Top Play’ scheme, enabling children to experience several new sports and work with a range of different equipment in their PE lessons.
Pride of place in the school’s entrance hall is to be given to a knitted collage of the school and surrounding area, made by the residents of Churchill Close, Clare. The children and staff were thrilled to receive this original gift; a group of four children visited Churchill Close to thank the residents and view other craft work that they have made. As Christmas approaches, a festive spirit is already apparent around the school. Rehearsals are well in hand for this year’s pantomime production, which will of course have a Millennium ‘feel’: Sleeping Beauty 2000! The audience will experience a journey through the century with the young cast while Beauty sleeps! The PTFA is holding its Christmas Fair at 3.00 pm on Friday December 3rd. Everyone is welcome to come along and buy those stocking fillers and crafts, enjoy a cup of tea and have a go on games that the children in Elm class have made.
