Clare Primary School wins £1000 in millennium competition
Clare Primary School was one of 13 Suffolk schools to win money for the development of their grounds.
The grant has been awarded by Suffolk Grounds Service. The headteacher at Clare Primary School, Mr John Pauling, said that his school had been planning to improve their grounds for some time, and so took advantage of the competition. “We’d like to construct a quiet area outside and replace the existing gardens with different types of Victorian , herb or rose gardens, We also want to have a “trim trail” around the edge of the field incorporating various activities as well as providing extra seating and some shaded area in the gardens.” Another of the plans they have is to change one of the areas at the back of the school into a children’s garden. So the award will be put to good use.
