Clare Ancient House Annual Fundraising Lunch
Angela Fritz very kindly opened up her house, Norfolks, for
the annual fund-raising lunch at which 75 guests enjoyed a buffet prepared by
the Trustees and Friends of the Museum.
Well over half of the annual running costs for the Museum were raised
and we will therefore be in a position to make a substantial rearrangement of
the front room of the museum to house a new display of the finds from the archaeological
digs undertaken in Clare in late April and early May 2011. The raffle, which failed to include the
promised trip around the world but did offer several nice prizes, and a brief
speech of welcome and thanks were all that punctuated the afternoon's revelry
which was blessed with glorious summer weather.
The Museum's 2011 exhibition on Clare and the late 19th-century
agricultural depression is open until Sunday October 2nd, with all
visitors to and residents of Clare most welcome. Story By: Peggy and Richard Smith
