As you are aware, Suffolk County Council is looking to transfer the ownership and running of Clare Castle Country Park to a community or local organisation. The council is committed to ensuring that the best outcome for the community and the park is reached. 

A group has been set up with representatives from those organisations that are interested in the future of the country park. These are Clare Town Council, Suffolk County Council, St Edmundsbury Borough Council, the National Trust, English Heritage, Clare Society and other interested community groups. 

The group will look to develop a proposal that allows the park to remain a benefit to Clare and the wider community, is financially feasible and will support the long term aspirations of the park. We hope to be able to share this proposal with you all in September.
