Stour Valley Community School appoints Headteacher
The Board of Trustees of the proposed Stour Valley Community School in Clare, Suffolk, is delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Christine Inchley as its first Headteacher.
Chris is a highly experienced Deputy Head whose specialist subjects are Maths, Physics and Chemistry - all core subjects for Stour Valley. She currently works at Manningtree High School, a rural school in Essex for students aged 11 – 16 that has a very similar demographic and ethos to those of Stour Valley. Manningtree High School is judged by Ofsted to be a good and improving school, with outstanding features. Chris has previous experience of the successful start-up of new schools on two occasions one of which was a City Technology College (CTC) and the other a small rural comprehensive (CTC).
Chris holds a BSc degree and PGCE and is currently studying for an MA in Education. She will commence work immediately on the delivery of the new school strategy, building programme and staffing requirements although she will combine this with honouring existing teaching and other commitments at Manningtree. An early priority for Chris will be meetings with all the prospective students, parents and educational partners in the community and beyond in the New Year before she becomes full time at Stour Valley in April 2011.
