Christmas Lights - the Big Switch On
On Friday 26 November, Clare Christmas lights are due to be switched on at a fun filled event on the Market Hill.
Local children are invited to take part in a piper-led procession which will leave the Church at 5.45pm down the High Street and up Market Hill. The lights will then officially be switched on at 6pm by the Mayor of St Edmundsbury Ian Houlder.
There will be stalls selling food and drink on Market Hill and the firkin of beer won as part of the Suffolk Village of the Year award 2010 will be served to local residents.
Road closures will take place on The Market Hill and the High Street for a few minutes between 5.45pm and 6pm. Road users are advised that there will be short delays to their journey during these times.
The event is organised by Clare Business Association in conjunction with the Town Council with the support of local businesses, volunteers and St Edmunsbury Borough Council.
