Scarecrow competition winners

The rain stayed away this year for the scarecrow competition organised by Clare in Bloom.

Many thanks to John Laws at the Clare Castle Country Park for providing this lovely venue as a home for some creative and interesting scarecrows on the afternoon of Sunday 19 September.

All entrants, and some members of the public who were enjoying an afternoon in the park voted for this year’s winners as follows:

Best Traditional Scarecrow -
Joint award to Jack and Sam Hardy for their scarecrows "Douglas" and "Sam".

Most Imaginative Scarecrow - Charlotte Lovejoy for "Henry"

Charkotte Lovejoy collecting her prize

Other scarecrows included a mermaid constructed by the owners of Sea Pictures Gallery, a fantastic colourful teddy bear made by Clare Bears and two cyclists who were left behind from the recent ‘Tour of Britain’ which passed through Clare on Friday the 17th September!

Well done and a big thanks to everybody who took part.
