Tour of Britain coming to Clare
On Friday 17 September 2010, the Tour of Britain passes through Clare. This is Stage 7 of the race which starts in Bury St Edmunds and finishes in Colchester.
The group will pass through Clare (from Haverhill to Cavendish) at approximately 11.10-11.20 am, after a start from Angel Hill, Bury St Edmunds. After Clare there will be a category 3 hill climb (up from the Nethergate Brewery towards Foxearth. This could mean that there will be a breakaway group, before the race reaches Clare, of riders wanting to pick up points in the King of the Mountains competition; further hill climbs take place at Boxford and Sudbury – for race details see www.tourofbritain.co.uk

The riders will be travelling down the High Street. A rolling road closure programme will operate 15 minutes ahead of the race.
The race will be filmed by ITV4.
