Clare is Suffolk Village of the Year 2010
We are very pleased to announce that Clare has been awarded the title of Suffolk Village of the Year 2010.

The competition run by Suffolk Association of Local Councils, involved three rounds of judging. Clare had already won 1st place in the St Edmundsbury round winning £500. The prize for this final title is £1,000, a certificate, a plaque and a firkin of beer from Adnams.

The award was announced live on Radio Suffolk on Mark Murphy's show at around 8.35 on Wednesday 18 August.

We were judged on our community spirit, the Town Council, our natural environment, the general appearance of the village and any special achievements such as the nuttery, our French links and the summer pool project.

This is a great achievement that everyone in Clare can be proud of.

If you have any suggestions on what the prize should be used for, please come along to our next Town Council meeting on Thursday 19 August and let us know or email, Townclerk@clare-uk.com

Congratulations Clare!
