Come and join us!
Clare Amateur Dramatics Society (CADS) is celebrating its 75th anniversary in September and extends a warm welcome to new and former members to come and join them.
CADS has been performing in the town since 1935. The society, formed by Rev Francis Swithinbank, first performed the mysterious play ‘Gaslight’ in Clare Town Hall in October of that year. Since then they have performed a huge range of plays and pantomimes, even musicals such as Oliver and Bugsy Malone. Just recently the latest offering from the society was the tale of the swashbuckling sailor ‘Sinbad’ written by member Hazel Bunting.
Members and friends of the society will host a special evening of entertainment on September 25 at Clare Town Hall to celebrate its special birthday and the chance to catch up with friends old and new from the group.
As well as that the society is unveiling its fresh new logo as it looks forward to another successful 75 years.
CADS Chairman, Nick Rutter, said “It’s an exciting time for CADS with its 75th anniversary just over the horizon and plans for some exciting performances in 2011. Anyone who is interested in getting involved, meeting new people and having fun – as well as being involved in our productions - is welcome to come along and see what we’re about.”
Looking to take part? Come along to a rehearsal and meet us! If you’re a budding actor, writer, director or stage hand then come and say hello.
