**CLARE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS**
The switching-on of the Christmas Lights in Clare will take place on Friday 28th November 2008!
This exciting event, organised by the Clare Business Association and Clare Parish Council, is fun for all the family. The evening starts at 5.45 p.m. when there will be a procession for children, led by Father Christmas, from the Church to the Christmas tree on Market Hill - free glow sticks will be provided for the children.
After the procession, the lights will be switched on by the Mayor of St. Edmundsbury.
There will be entertainment including children's fairground rides and Magic Ollie, the children's entertainer and magician. Refreshments including hot dogs and mince pies will be on sale and some of the shops and cafes in Clare will be open. There are a number of pubs and restaurants that will be happy to entertain you after the festivities have ended.
All are welcome to come and join in this fun family evening!

St. Edmundsbury Borough Council has commenced the next stage of consultation on their Local Development Framework - the folder of documents which will help to guide the development of the Borough to 2031.
You are able to respond to these documents from now until 5th January 2009 by using the interactive consultation website at:
Planning surgeries will be held to provide you with an opportunity to discuss the document with planning officers and others with an interest in the future planning of the Borough. These surgeries are being held in:
Haverhill on 8th December in the evening
Bury St. Edmunds on 10th December in the evening
Places are limited so if you would like to attend please contact the Borough Council on (01284) 757368 during normal office hours as they are unable to accept people turning up at the door.
Planning Officers will also be on hand to answer your questions and to explain the documents at:
Clare Town Hall on Friday 28th November between 4.00 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.
Clare Library on Saturday 6th December between 9.30 a.m. and 1.00 p.m.
Please note that you do not need to book to attend either of these sessions and you are free to drop-in to them.
